Alright, we’ve had a lot of people visiting the site from Twitter in the last few weeks. In honor of that, here is a look at the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs in the NHL—Twitter Style. If we could give out suggestions to all 8 teams, this is what we’d tell them (in 140 characters or less).
#8 Montreal Canadiens vs. #1 Boston Bruins
@bostonbs Stay out of the box. Habs PP is really good and the Bruins PK is less than fantastic. Sounds easy enough.
@mtlhabs Carey Price has to outplay Tim Thomas. Even if he steals a few games, they’ll still have to be near perfect to win 4 games.
#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs #4 Pittsburgh Penguins
@broadstbullies: The more physical, the better. Coburn & Parent have to show up; Richards has to be physical on Malkin. 1 word: Redemption
@pittpens Malkin needs to figure out Richards, Sid just needs to do what he always does vs Flyers. Get secondary scoring & last year’s Orpik
#6 Carolina Hurricanes vs. #3 New Jersey Devils
@thecanes Make sure Cam Ward plays like he did in 2006 when he won the Conn Smythe. Biggest advantage: Use speed, speed and more speed
@njdevils Go back to how they were playing without Brodeur. They did that right when he came back, but something’s changed since. Change back.
#7 New York Rangers vs. #2 Washington Capitals
@dccaps Which Theodore is going to show up? If the former Hart winner shows up, its a sweep—if the goalie from the Avs shows up, watch out!
@nyrags Its obvious, but Lundquist needs to own Ovechkin. Come to think of it, he needs to own Ovechkin, Green, Semin and so on…
So what are some of your best suggestions? Remember, you have 140 characters to work with—so what do you got? Let’s see how creative you can get!
We’ll post the Western Conference suggestions later today…
