Smyth looks pretty good to me…. finally a top line winger! They had to give up Quincey (but he’ll be replaced by Scuderi), Preissing and a 5th rounder… I’m sure they’re more than happy about the trade.

Finally, the Kings are the recipient of a salary dump!

Will Ryan Smythe do? Is he the winger to help Kopitar rack up the assists? Will he push Frolov to step up his intensity?
I think it’s a good trade, but do you know who could make this team a deep playoff contender? Not Gaborik – his stick is too long in my opinion: lots of goals, but lots of injuries. Not Havlat – all he does is cherry pick at the blue line: so why is he so injury prone? Not Hossa – he’s got the hockey version of the curse of the Cubs: fitting he’s found a home in Chi-town. No what this Kings team needs is someone like Adam Deadmarsh. Did they get his spirit in Ryan Smyth? There is always the Blues and Andy Murray!
