Lately, the first thing that hockey fans think of when they hear the name, “Marian Hossa,” is his insanely long contract he signed in the offseason with the Chicago Blackhawks. If they get past that, then they might think about how he’s played with 4 teams in the last 2 and a half seasons. Needless to say, his hockey ability isn’t the forefront of people’s minds.
Once in a while, Hossa does something like this to remind us why he has been such a coveted sniper over the last few years. Take a look at this amazing goal against the Tampa Bay Lightning—the early entry for Goal of the Year.
“I didn’t have much time there and tried to do it and hit it right on the stick. (I’m) glad I scored that type of goal. I’m going to enjoy it for a little bit, but it was a little bit lucky too.” –Marian Hossa (Chicago Tribune)

This goal alone would have been worth 2 years of that 12 year contract!
I wonder if Duncan Keith just sits across the locker room and mocks him with his 13 year contract?
Holy crap, what a goal!
I wish he would have signed with the Kings. Roll him on the second line with Smyth on the first? That would have been nice.
