About
For years I constantly searched for a website that would talk about sports the way my friends and I would while watching a game together. Forever, we yelled at the TV as the so-called “experts” would comment on things that made absolutely no sense to those of us watching night in and night out. In 2007, after an endless search through the internet for the kind of website I would visit on a daily basis, ViewFromMySeats.com was born.
In early 2009, VFMS made the transition from an all-encompasing sports blog, to a website that focused specifically on the world of hockey. I wanted a site that would welcome hockey fans from around the entire NHL and provide them with something new daily. I hoped to provide content for people who absolutely love the game of hockey, but don’t always have time to plan their lives around it. Ultimately, this is just a hockey site for hockey fans no matter how long they’ve been following the sport.
Since fully converting to all-hockey-all-the-time, VFMS has enjoyed much more success than we ever could have imagined. It’s been a Top 10 hockey site on BallHype, a Top 20 hockey site on Technorati, and even in the Top 100 of All Sports. It has appeared on the Huffington Post, ESPN’s SportsCenter, the New York Times’ Slap Shot blog, and Yahoo’s Puck Daddy. The blogosphere is a vast universe, and we’ve been lucky enough to be linked all across it on numerous occasions.
In early 2010, VFMS expanded its writing staff to feature contributors from all over North America. Our staff now includes:
Matt Reitz
It has truly evolved from being a View From MY Seats to a View From OUR Seats. As long as people are visiting and enjoying our website, we’re doing our job. We hope to suit all of your hockey needs and keep you coming back for more!
